AW Launch Party

Hope & Ivy’s Autumn Press Night: The Low Down
With our Creatures of the Night collection hitting the website and our 4th Birthday approaching, we wanted to celebrate with an utterly Hope & Ivy press party!
Hope & Ivy Founders, Sarah Sleightholm and Beth Chilton
On the evening of August 21st, we invited a bunch of our favourite floral-crazy, style muses down to Hope & Ivy HQ in the heart of East London. The night centred around the inspirations behind our new season, Autumn/Winter looks. The freshly dropped collection is full of rich colours, sparkling embellishments and fabulous floral prints! We kept the party quite intimate but that doesn’t mean we can’t share all the fun- here’s the ultimate low down of what we got up to –
Flower Arranging
If you hadn’t already noticed – we have a serious penchant for all things floral! In honour of the launch, we rolled in the incredible, botanical enthusiast Hazel Gardiner. Hazel has got some serious blooming credentials – having worked with brands such as SpaceNK, Amazon and even featuring on Kirsty Alsop’s Handmade Christmas on Channel 4. Hazel’s creative eye for all things blossoming made her the perfect person to pick a selection of flowers that reflected our brand-new, Hope & Ivy collection. We then entertained our guests by holding a crafty, flower arranging workshop. Each participant had to make a small bouquet using the materials provided. Guided by the professionals, they didn’t do half bad – Just look at all these beautiful bunches –

Custom Cocktails & Cakes

We couldn’t throw a party without whipping up a cocktail or two! Our very own cocktail master mustered up a few personalised, Hope & Ivy concoctions. Inspired by seasonal botanicals, the drinks incorporated a few of our preferred spirits, delicious fruits and our kindly gifted Fentimens lemonade. The ‘Creature of the Night’ was one of the night’s inventions. Here’s our top secret (not so secret) recipe to make your very own ‘Creature of the Night’–
All you need is –
  • A good measure of your favoured gin
  • Some fresh lemon juice/fentimens lemonade (which ever takes your fancy)
  • A simple mixing syrup
  • A splash of prosecco
  • A sprinkle of lemon peel
  • floral decorations
Next -

  • Place some ice into a cocktail shaker. Gently pour in your portion of gin then add simple syrup and the lemon juice or lemonade.
  • Shake the mixture well and strain it into your chosen glass.
  • Now, top the glass with a dash of prosecco, garnish with a lemon twist and sprinkle with flowers.

Our ‘creature of the night’ cocktail
We had a grand time sipping on our custom cocktails. Try the recipe for yourself at home!
To keep us bright eyed during copious cocktail consumption – the fantastic, méringue girls were on hand - this girl boss baking collective know how to make a sweet sensation. Their iconic meringue kisses and macaroons laid upon this colourful explosion of baking mastery. The glorious H & I almost looked almost too good to eat but, we are VERY glad we did as it was absolutely delicious!

Gift Bags
The gift bags – made out of left-over fabric cut offs
No party is complete without a goodie bag and we provided our guests with an absolute treat! After making a few phone-calls, we rustled up the best bag of goodies we could possibly find. Take a look at what was inside:
-Ciate London and Barry M came through with some gorgeous make up and nail goodies. We love both of these brands for their cruelty free stance on the beauty industry.
-The journey home should always involve some sort of snack – we provided a few! Some innocently healthy but ever so moreish NAKD bars and some proper posh (gluten free) popcorn – a bag of Joe & Seph’s.
-Some other little treats from invisibobble were packed in there along with the genius CleanHeels invisible heel covers. Both products are lifesavers, so we had to gift our guests these little treats.
-Finally, to quench that after party thirst, we had some more of our favourite, Fentimen’s soft drinks. The British brand have been botanically brewing heavenly soft drinks since 1905 and are the perfect after party sip.

The Collection
We love gathering everyone together for a good time, but we also love sharing how we got here. For the past 4 years, so much has gone into each collection down to the finest details. We take such pride in the creative journey that inspires all of the garments we produce. Creatures of the Night has a dark, boudoir element to some of the winter ready pieces. Influences of rich, European tapestries and show stopping prints feature on dramatic silhouettes and some classic party styles are prevalent too!

Hope & Ivy founders, Beth & Sarah, are so happy to share these new pieces on the 4th Birthday of Hope & Ivy. It really is collection that celebrates everything Hope & Ivy has become in its 4 years – florals, embroidery, stunning shapes and truly memorable pieces! The collection speaks for itself and our lovely guests expressed their delight too – take a look at their favourite pieces:
@kazzstyle_Went with this beautiful blue and red number. This structure is perfect for the seasonal transition and Kazz wears it SO well!
The gorgeous @lifeofbeckie looks sensational in this floaty frock. Featuring a gorgeous autumnal print and lovely lace details - this dress is a must have.
The beautiful, Alice from @alice_inthe_looking_glass
went with bold florals and we are LOVING for it!  Styling it up with some bright white trainers, Alice gives new life to this super sophisticated fit.
Beckie and Alice also took a fancy to these gorgeous gowns. Both sporting a stunning V-neck, cape sleeve and flowing maxi to suit their own unique styles. We love the bohemian glamour these two looks encapsulate!
Creatures of the Night is now available and ready to browse on the site. We really hope you love it as much as we do. We can’t wait to see all of our lovely customers in this collection – please tag us and show us how you wear your favourite!
