Introducing Spring 2025

Discover The Sleeping Flowers Collection

We are delighted to announce the launch of our first capsule collection for SS25 – entitled, The Sleeping Flowers. Inspired by the Emily Dickinson poem of the same name, these new Hope & Ivy styles were designed to reflect the magic of the changing seasons, as floral favourites of ours including anemones and asters begin to bloom and wake from their winter slumber.

Our new spring collection is a bouquet of botanical beauty, and this is just the start, with pops of blush pink, deep navy and vibrant orange decorating the base of these romantic designs.

The Sleeping Flowers

"WHOSE are the little beds," I asked,

"Which in the valleys lie?"

Some shook their heads, and others smiled,

And no one made reply.

Perhaps they did not hear, I said,

I will inquire again.

"Whose are the beds -- the tiny beds

So thick upon the plain?"

"'T is daisy in the shortest;

A little further on, --

Nearest the door, to wake the first, --

Little leontodon.

"'T is iris, sir, and aster,

Anemone and bell;

Batschia in the blanket red,

And chubby daffodil."

Meanwhile, at many cradles,

She rocked and gently smiled,

Humming the quaintest lullaby

That ever soothed a child.

"Hush! Epigea wakens!

The crocus stirs her hood, --

Rhodora's cheek is crimson,

She's dreaming of the wood."

Then turning from them, reverent,

"Their bedtime 't is," she said;

"The bumblebees will wake them

When April woods are red."

- Emily Dickinson

When the team first began designing for spring 2025, it was immediately clear that our hopes surrounded creating a selection of inspiring stories and dedicated capsule collections that would carry our loyal customers from the first days of thawing frost, right through to balmy April afternoons. With this foundation, we began sourcing vintage artworks, fabrics, embroideries and works of literature and allowed our imaginations to run wild with the possibilities this new season could offer.

Not long after our first sketches and ideas began to take shape, we discovered the poem The Sleeping Flowers by Emily Dickinson, and knew, that within the words that so beautifully described the constant passage of time that brings spring blooms each year, we had found the ideal starting point for the dresses that would launch this new chapter for Hope & Ivy.

As we read through The Sleeping Flowers, our design team were immediately struck by the mention of anemones, a floral favourite for many of us at H&I. With their delicate, yet vibrantly coloured petals, dense dark middles and light frothy leaves, anemones are something of a floral juxtaposition; making them a fascinating and varied floral Muse for our spring collection.

In keeping with this, we transposed our painterly studies of anemones into prints that meet spring's fresh embrace, and by combining these bold prints with our own lightweight, floaty fabrics, we have created something of a juxtaposition itself; naturally, an ode to the anemone.

And now, these styles are available for you to make your own.... so, why not discover the beauty of The Sleeping Flowers for yourself?
