Chelsea Flower Show

It doesn’t matter if they are real or printed, here at Hope & Ivy we LOVE anything and everything floral!

The Chelsea Flower Show is the most prestigious horticultural show in the world. Located short tube from our office in East London, it would be silly for us to miss out on all the floral fun. We decided it was essential for us to make a trip and enjoy a day of blossoming inspiration.

Our day started with a casual walk around Sloane Square – all of the stores in the area decided to go all out for the festivities.  We were welcomed by gorgeous displays all for the Chelsea in Bloom festival.

The majority of the windows featured beautiful, cascading ‘creatures of the deep’ crafted from fresh flowers.  Our favourite was an amazing octopus designed for the KIKI McDonough storefront. This year’s theme for the festival was ‘Under the Sea’ - cleverly highlighting the beauty of the underwater world and while an undercurrent message alluded to the importance of conservation to protect our oceans.

After a quick pop in the shops and bite to eat we made our way to the Chelsea Flower Show. Super excited to witness leading designers exhibit their latest green creations!

If you haven’t heard of it, the Chelsea Flower Show is the go-to event for stunning floral displays, while giving you a great opportunity to do a spot of shopping at the same time! Top that off with some tea, cake and a glass of Pimms - you’ve got yourself a visually stunning, quintessentially British day out!

The show had some exquisite displays, which our print designer will be putting straight into her inspiration for next Spring. We’ll be using these flowers to create illustrations and patterns.  These will be worked and modified just in time for our new season dresses.  Keep your eyes peeled!

We even found a Hope & Ivy customer amongst the crowd! Doesn't she look gorgeous in our Bell Sleeve Maxi?
